About the Southern Tablelands Community Foundation (STCF)
In 2002, Community Plus Incorporated, now trading as Southern Tablelands Community Foundation, was established to provide support for community-building projects within the broader Goulburn region. Initial work included supporting refugees, establishing Workspace 2580 – an adult education shared space, and formation of the Southern Tablelands Community Foundation.
Our foundation is now established with a local Board of Directors with a range of community backgrounds and experience. The focus is to raise funds through donations, sponsorships, grants and bequests which will be invested in perpetuity through GreaterGood, in the Canberra Capital Region Foundation. Returns from these investments, together with funds from sponsored programs, will be distributed by periodic grants to not-for-profit community-based organisations in and around Goulburn region.
Eligibility?
To apply, you must meet the following criteria:
- Applicant organisations must be based in and around the Goulburn Mulwaree Region
- Applicant organisation must be a not-for-profit organisation with either an Incorporation Certificate and/or an ABN.
- Project must be for charitable purposes and offer clear community benefit and in alignment with the community building philosophy of Southern Tablelands Community Foundation
- Not-for-profit organisations with or without DGR-1 endorsement from the ATO are eligible to apply
- Have a bank account in the organisation’s name (we do not grant funds to an individual’s account)
- Organisations can only submit one application per grant round
What we will not fund
Please note, you will be considered ineligible if:
- Application is submitted by individuals, sole traders, private, or commercial businesses (as per your submitted ABN)
- Applicant organisation has an overdue final acquittal report from any STCF program.
- Application is for a project or activity that has already occurred/is occurring prior to the announcement of funding
- Application is incomplete
Assessment of Grant applications
- The STCF Board will initially assess each application to ensure it is from an eligible organisation – by registering your organisation with us, this helps us to streamline this process
- Assessment criteria include:
- Demonstrated alignment with grant purpose
- Demonstrated positive community-building impact on the local community
- Equitable spread of recipients across communities in the broader Goulburn Region
- The STCF Board, at its complete discretion, will determine how the funds will be awarded to the applicants
Reporting Requirements
- Successful applicants will be required to provide evidence of funds being fully expended one month after the expenditure or,
- Within 10 months the applicant must provide evidence of the funds having been fully expended. If the funds have not been spent by this date, the applicant must provide reasons for this and seek permission to have the date extended.
- STCF reserves the right to have grant funds returned if it is not satisfied with the acquittal.
Acquittal Information
An acquittal must include.
- Receipts for purchased equipment or project expenses
- Explanation of what happened with the project, and did it achieve its objective (yes/no – why/ why not)
- Photographs (preferably 2) in high resolution jpeg format that includes organisation members or the wider community.
- Members of the organisation could be photographed working on the project as it gets underway or celebrating its successful completion
- Image consent for STCF to publicly share the photos
