Goulburn Monopoly board game sponsor Community Bank BDCU swung into action when it came to sell the popular games, using its promotional skills to help drive sales.

Branch Manager Amy Edwards says the Southern Tablelands Community Foundation provided her with a striking cut-out figure of ‘Mr Monopoly’ which the branch placed outside its Auburn Street premises, which sparked interest from passers-by and customers.

The team then directed people across the road to Bi-Rite Appliances retailer Kim Gann, who has sold many of the games.

Amy said the board game was keenly sought after. “We put it on our intra-net and sales went nuts,” she said.

BDCU The Collective Impact, a member owned mutual, provides full banking services through its Community Bank BDCU franchise agreement with Bendigo Bank. The collaborative effort is one of many enterprising efforts where the BDCU Group works with other local businesses in the interests of the wider community.

Each week Community Bank BDCU gives its customers and small businesses the opportunity to participate in ‘Thank You Thursday’.

Using its on-line resources and marketing experience, it highlights people going above and beyond expectations. The promotion also acknowledges things like an act of kindness or innovation in small business or a job they are proud of.
